I Sometimes Believe Life Is Very Unfair

For those of us who love to travel, (I realize this isn't nor should it be our topmost concern) but, this disease has wreaked havoc on travel plans.

I had 2 trips scheduled. One to my home state and the other to Egypt. I was leaving for one trip in April and May for the second one.

the travel agent reimbursed me 100% on my Egypt trip. BUT the trip to NY on Delta was the problem. I had insurance. There is an exclusion for pandemics/epidemics. Delta will only allow a change within one year of the purchase. So for those of us who schedule in advance, we have little time to use the ticket.

I booked my hotel on hotels.com. Nonrefundable because I got a great deal. American has agreed to extend my ticket until year end.

I am going to lose money. The airlines needs to step to the plate and offer what the cruise lines are offering.

I agree. They have enough money to reimburse everyone. Hopefully, you can use your ticket before the year is up.

@Carissimi i have a geneological road trip planned for KY in April. that has not been cancelled yet. but i am going to have to take a trip somewhere to use the other ticket to NY. pissed about it because the airlines will keep the money no matter what. Delta said their system purges automatically after one year

That’s not right. Under these circumstances, there should be no time limit, or maybe one year after the date of complete eradication of the virus. @akindheart
