I Sometimes Believe Life Is Very Unfair

For those of us who love to travel, (I realize this isn't nor should it be our topmost concern) but, this disease has wreaked havoc on travel plans.

I had 2 trips scheduled. One to my home state and the other to Egypt. I was leaving for one trip in April and May for the second one.

the travel agent reimbursed me 100% on my Egypt trip. BUT the trip to NY on Delta was the problem. I had insurance. There is an exclusion for pandemics/epidemics. Delta will only allow a change within one year of the purchase. So for those of us who schedule in advance, we have little time to use the ticket.

I booked my hotel on hotels.com. Nonrefundable because I got a great deal. American has agreed to extend my ticket until year end.

I am going to lose money. The airlines needs to step to the plate and offer what the cruise lines are offering.

A lot of disruptions to our lives. I am glad I had not bought tickets for our June trip yet.
We canceled our plans to visit kids in NC next week. Not worth the hassle if more stuff gets closed.
The travel industry is notorius for trying to keep your money even in times of disaster.

I’m so glad I didn’t book early for my trip to Europe, this year. I almost did in January, but thought, I’ll wait a bit. The pessimist in me hates making plans so far in advance. @jim44444

@Carissimi the cheap in me stalks plane fares. i booked my trips far in advance. August for Egypt and a year ago for KY

Wish I could do that, but I’m always thinking, “anything could happen in the next 3-6 months.” @akindheart

@Carissimi I usually make plans well in advance but this year I have procrastinated. Lucky me.
I am assuming that my 3 day bike ride at end of April will be a no go.

Unless you do it alone. @jim44444
