Discipline = Freedom. Serve ya time, learn your lesson and carry on. Until you have a semi full toolbox of useful and essential skills you have to play the game. Being a rebel at this stage of life will only hinder your progress towards a happy and fulfilling future.

Just go, it's a short amount of time, you get your homework done without distraction, maybe time to enjoy a book, and then you can get on with your day

It wasn't to do with homework. And it's for half an hour! I can't just sit there doing nothing for that long!

@ladyfreyawilliams: sure you can, it's half an hour. I've done it, most of us have done it, it's just a half hour to do whatever you need to get done. I don't even know why it's a punishment, it's mindlessly easy and ineffective at teaching any lessons. Just knock it out and move on

I didn't go and I didn't go to the next one so now I have to go on Saturday! They can't make me though.

What happened in your school if you didn't go to a detention that you were given?
