I Am Not Who I Was But I Am Who I Am

I was in the middle of Hurricane Harvey and have 4 ft of water in my apartment. I feel lost and am not really sure how to process this loss. Its just things that can be replaced, but its my history. Even my shoes and clothes are ruined. Does anyone have any ideas how to put all of this in perspective??

I suppose the most positive point of view is to think of it as a new beginning. Next time around you may be more interested in only accumulating the barest of necessities or you may realize that orange will never be your color no matter what anyone thinks.
Whatever, I wish you the very best. You are alive and still have a chance to make a positive impact on our world.
Take care.

@dulcedona Thank you!! Your right that this is a new beginning. I am going to move in with my daughter and 6 month old son until my insurance company pays.

You are already half way there. You have a plan for the immediate future. I hope you will stay in touch.

I doubt if it has even really sunk in yet. It will be a long time before you have any sense of normal. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later but it will test even the strongest individuals. Good luck.

I would just say to try and realize that it is just stuff, you are alive and stuff can be replaced.
