I Have Mommy Issues

My mom was never really around growing up as far as I can remember since she nearly always worked and stuff. But my sister was having school problems and so we moved and then my mom opened a skating rink, and so a lot of the kids that went to the skating rink were my sister's age and my mom treated them like her own kids. I guess it made my mom start to pay more attention to the kids and my sister. I realized my mom favored my sister over me, like she would spend more time with my sister and they would joke and blow $1,000 on makeup together and my mom knew who my sister was dating and stuff. I just never really had that kind of relationship with my mom. We always had short conversations and every time I would talk about my day or even bullies and whatnot, she'd sorta zone out I guess. I don't think I noticed what our relationship was like until now because of the way I act around my best friend's mom. Looking back now, it explains why I really looked forward to having female teachers. It's like I want to be around them and I'm more open and comfortable around them than being with my mom. I just wish our relationship was better.
