I Love My Man

Catch 22 . . .
I proudly speak of my man.
I can list several reasons I love him.
BUT he is only a man!
Perfect in so many ways but 1.
He can be emotionally unavailable.

This problem goes back a long time, all the way back to living in caves. Men were not the emotional one then but the strong protector. As time passed things changed, fast forward a few thousand years and we see society telling men they need to be in touch with their feminine side and that has happened on a large scale, so much so we have clambering now for a more masculine male. To be sure men and women are different and not just physically. Our approach to solving problems is different. Men are fixers and when women start talking about problems we instinctively want to fix it or we avoid it all together because we figure WE are the problem. We haven't figured out that women don't necessarily want to fix anything they just need someone to listen to them getting it off their chest. We are still working on being a sounding board.

@Echoing I have been married 46 years and am a pretty good sounding board these days but it took a while to get here.

@lasergraph The Yin and Yang of life. Balancing out. Logic verses Emotion. It's meant to be. We women have a hard time.. relating, just as you men do to us.... I know.
