I Want to Lose Weight

Fitness Comes Slowly... Fitness is part of a lifestyle, if you get into a habit that becomes part of your lifestyle. It is getting back to a healthier habit and lifestyle.

Recently I bought a tracker (www.fitbit.com) and have started tracking my walking, 10,000 steps a day and 10 floors a day seems like a lot, but found out that it is achievable with normal walking during the day and about an hour of solid walking will get you 10,000 steps in that day.  Of course your stride has a lot to do with it, if your stride is short you get it a lot faster, I think the overall goal is to walk 5 miles (approx 10,000 steps for my stride) a day.  This along with diet and tracking what you eat helps inform you as to what you need to change.

Sleep is another big thing for better fitness, of course I know many on here that have various degrees of insomnia, but if you can find out what to do to get better sleep it improves things.

Step away from the sodas, even diet soda, the sugar and salt in the soda are so much that if you put that much sugar and salt on the table in front of you it would surprise you that you are taking that in, but it isn't just that, the PH of a soda is about the same as drinking straight lemon juice, if you have sucked on a lemon and how acidic it is your coke or pepsi is the same.  Of course battery acid is the same also.  The amount of acid in your body affects how your body functions, it has been shown in studies that such ailments like cancer spread faster in acid heavy cells.  In perspective, coffee has about the same acid as milk which is the same as the acid in your saliva.

There is no magic bullet to get fit with, but the more information that you know of and are able to understand how it affects your body is what helps you get in fit, notice that it is being fit, not shape, the words are tossed around and people think that they are the same meaning but actually they are different, people can be fit but are not in shape, know a friend of mine that he runs 10 miles a day and he is fit but he isn't in shape, he still has a tire around his middle and he has MS.

People have a less of an understanding about themselves and their lifestyle than they used to, the environment of fast food, quick satisfaction, and amount of items has gotten so much that we have a time countering it, but it can be done.

Sorry if this sounds like a rant but it is things that I have found out and have been working on changing in my life to get fit and in shape.  The information is out there if we know how to get meaningful data out of it for ourselves.

Also I like walking the circle real core walking...martial arts.. bagua zhang...circle art activity works your body brings you back to your inner world. like yoga...walk a circle add postures, hand positions, movements, breathing arts self-defense movements called bagua.. as you walk hold upper body slowly morph into a dragon-like continual twisting soon spirit returns to it's inner core ;) many things we can do... thanks info was really informing... hugs

1 day I read an article about obesity and remember reading that the metabolism is major part of why people carry extra weight. Start moving the body is the key to burn fat. Once read, I decided to lose it and got into the new healthy lifestyle exploration. It was like another world at beginning but slowly grasp it. Without any weight # goal to lose, I reached 125 with 5 days per week workouts scheduled. It is the lifestyle path to take...

My magic mix was: workouts + healthy food 5 times per day + lots of water
