First time writing my own poem.. let me know what you guys think!

[b][u]The roads are missing me: [/u][/b]

Everything happened with the blink of an eye

I raised my hands and looked up to sky

How could a joyful moment diverge into grief and sorrow.

Time also stood still as if there was no tomorrow

The worst part was going through it alone.

Nobody to call when you pick up the phone.

They say I’ll never be able to be behind the wheel

This can’t be right, this can’t be real

Right now, the beauty of life is beginning to touch me again.

I practice gratitude and patience to ease off the chronic pain.

Whatever will be, will be

I just hope the roads are also missing me.

@Grateful4you you make a very great point. I agree with that. It’s all about self esteem and self confidence. Definitely needs working on. The only opinion that matters is our own. I will learn to be more confident! You are so motivational. It means a lot. Thank you so much.

@Munchingonspaghetti What a kind message. I once took care of a former professor and curator of art. I wrote volumes of poems which she summarily dismissed as "Too pedestrian and maudlin" or whatever. I was close to giving up but gave her one more. To my shock she said. "David, this is quite good" and sent the poem on to a professor of creative writing.

@Grateful4you I know others don’t understand it and tbh I don’t expect them to, I write for me. I just wondered what It was like to share my first piece. I agree. I can feel a shift inside of me.
