I Connect With Nature And Find Serenity In Its Beauty

Being close to nature, especially by myself, is usually a reverential experience for me. It recharges my soul.

I just spent part of the day walking in the forest sans clothing last Friday and found it to be an almost spiritual experience, standing bare among the trees. I should probably write about it.

@gladewalker: John Muir? :) I always meant to read a bunch of his stuff. What an amazing guy. I remember coming across his name on a sign at Sequoia National Park in California as a kid, and then did a report on him.

For me being out in a storm requires a very different mood and is very different from my normal nature walks. For me, its a little bit of the danger, the wind stealing your breath away, the bitterness and bareness of it...of man against nature, and the fight of keeping the push on to keep going. :) And it's beautiful all at the same time.

You really should read his story at

He really was quite a prolific author. I visited his "scribble den" at his home in Martinez, CA where he wrote many of his stories. I can just imagine him also wandering nude in the woods during some of his many walks to feel as close as possible to the beauty of the forest.

I will do that! Thank you :)

Me too, especially if it involves being around trees for me. :)
