I Am a Friend of the Moths

I have been friendly enough with moths that I can discern personality traits and can usually pet them without them flying away. They're like small floofs who aren't used to attention but are generally thankful to have something that doesn't want to eat them! :D

where do you find them?
MrMelancholy · 31-35, M
@elafina Usually just outside during dusk in the summer months. A lot are just common Miller moths, but I've seen a rare Tiger moth and SUPER SIZED Miller moth (think about the overall size of a hamburger!) and a glimpse of a Hummingbird Hawk moth. I'd like to raise Rosy Maples and Atlas moths as a hobby and possibly a secondary income, selling them to universities and bug scientists.

@MrMelancholy a moth at a hamburger's size?..strange world..
i too like insects and somedays i try to contact them, usually grasshoppers and dragonflies catch my interest the most. good luck, and don't make them suffer if possible

@elafina Oh, far from it. I've gone out of my way to catch moths that have wandered inside somehow and let them back out - I've had one moth I took outside fly in a couple of circles in front of my face before flying away. I refuse to believe it wasn't thanking me xD

@MrMelancholy nice:) i said so for the part of the universities and bug scientists

@elafina Yeah, studying moths is still on the backburner as far as animal sciences are concerned but there's always been a cursory question about why lights seem to make them go all out of whack, after all.

Moth bröther love lämp. xD

@MrMelancholy inform me if you learn anything, i'd love to solve that mystery too
I've once had an experience, that's a different thing but why not, with water fireflies (i'm not exactly sure about that but when i described it they told me it was that) where water bugs glowing at night hugged my body, while swimming in the dark sea...i was diving underwater looking at my hands that their shape was partially formed by the bugs. It was wow, i had only seen that once and i was scared in the beginning as i was alone and i didn't know what that was! It was magical really :)
