I'm a Geek and Proud of It

I've always considered myself as a geek. I mean I love technology and the latest cool gadget(i have a hate relationship with it as well....but that's another story)

From my first Tandy Color Computer I learned BASIC programming. I wrote a silly bank ATM simulation which my then girlfriend actually thought I was withdrawing $1000.00 from a strangers account!

Years later I find myself working for a on-site computer repair company called 'Geeks On Call' - i know...cool name ;-)
I learned the ins and outs of hardware, OS's (Windows Vista just was released then), networking, virus & spyware...etc. The unusual thing is my position was a call center supervisor and never even touched a customers computer.
I'll never forget that 11pm prank call from a girl who claimed to have 6 fingers.
During the call she fake sobbed and said she hated being called a 'geek'.
We told her "but...It's good to be a geek!" LOL!!

I like to find out how gadgets work. I even took apart my camcorder (circuit board and all) and put it back together. And yup...it worked great!

It's good to be a geek!

Naw... big difference... nerds are socially inept... the ones who get their underwear pulled over their heads in school.
Geeks are classy

lol this is the definition i go by :P
"Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how much you like something. It’s basically a license to proudly emote on a somewhat childish level rather than behave like a supposed adult. Being a geek is extremely liberating."
