I Screwed Up and I'm Sorry

I met this awesome guy name "Joe" anyways Joe was my best friend I could come to him when I was down and he would always manage to put a smile on my face. I've always liked him. He was just something I can always come too. Well one day my life fell apart (death despair and confusion and I distanced myself from Joe .. a year without speaking to him goes by and I finally have enough balls to call him. I apologized and he tells me we can't speak again due to his fiance ( which I understand completely) it's just sad that I can't even speak to my buddy .. comments are appreciated
