I Am Attracted To Mystery
To anyone watching, I was just wandering along the beach, occasionally picking up shells, then putting them in the mesh bag I was holding. I was wearing a bikini, a sarong tied around my hips, and a big straw hat to keep the sun off my face. There were lots of tidal pools on the beach, since it was a mixture of sand and rock. I ventured into a few, keeping an eye out to avoid stepping on anything hazardous.
I was actually looking for such a hazard, and didn't want it to turn on me. In the third pool, I found what I wanted—a cone snail, one of the deadliest animals in the ocean. Its venom could kill someone in minutes. There was no antidote. I picked it up carefully, making sure it was healthy, then put it into the bag along with the other shells.
My walk along the beach continued. At each tidal pool I let my bag dangle in the water, keeping the snail alive and refreshed.
