I Believe People Misunderstand Mental Illness

I do. I have 3 family members who deal with it (one passed away.) They are normal pretty much but can have bad times sadly and need help through those times. That being said to call a murderer mentally ill in these mass shooting incidents is wrong! It's attaching a bad stigma to mental illness and newsflash, anyone can become a murderer! There's plenty of examples of people who were thought to be normal in the past being a murderer throughout history! Plenty instances proven that road raged people have killed people even. Anger issues among many other circumstances can cause someone to murder another person and that's the truth! Stop the blame game is all I ask and be more knowledgeable about the subject. Not all mass shooters are mentally ill is my point! They could be seeking fame through the news or other media outlets like the murderer in the New Zealand shooting. That's a possibility in the world we live in nowadays.
Theres really no nice way to say that someone isnt right in the head; like not thinking straight according to society's standards, but im sure their thinking made sense to them at the time

Moreover some people just fraudulently claim mental impairments of sorts in attempts to get lighter sentences

Personally i dont think it should have any bearing on it

People tend to become angry if they feel mistreated or told they are disliked or if they feel they are disrespected; and so some retaliate

Not everyone but some

My point is not everyone with a mental disorder is a psycho but all psychos are considered mental so i understand some peoples' confusion on the matter or their writing them all up the same when they arent exactly

Hence your protest eh?
@Justabitweeb personally i think everyone should be required to see a psychologist regularly :)

@SStarfish maybe but people would never accept it and give an excuse that it violates their freedom.
@SStarfish I personally am thankful that people like you have no power to force (yes, you would have to use force like a psyco) to make people submit to the whims of a pseudo scientist.

I think most mentally I'll people are more likely to hurt themselves

@Summersrain agree and sadly I hate that it's being attached to every mass shooter! I honestly believe most aren't mentally ill and knew what they were doing with murderous intent!
