I Have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis

Hi. Just wanted to write down my story. Maybe it will help someone out or maybe someone could give some advice. Just so info on me. I'm a 20 year old female.

This all started in February of 2017. I was getting really tired all of the time. I didn't think much of it because I worked nights. Then I started to seem to lose focus and feel foggy/confused with the simplest of tasks. I still thought maybe I'm working on a cold. A few days after thinking so, I got what my doctor told me was thursh. Very quickly I started to decline. I slept any place I possibly could. No matter how much I slept it wasn't enough. My doctor ran blood tests and said they came back fine. I got to the point where I couldn't trust myself to drive I would fall asleep so often.

I went to the hospital twice with no answers. I then started to have "spells" where my heart rate would drop dramatically in a very short amount of time. I even got a portable EKG done which did pick up these "spells".

Fast forward to the middle of March and I get rushed to the hospital (a much better one than the others) because I'm so out of it. They thought I had a bleed in my brain to meningitis. A cat scan and a spinal tap later, still no answers. At this point I'm lucky to stay awake to finish a conversation with someone let alone a 20 minute interval. After about 8 vials of blood and 48 hours later I'm told I have hypothyroidism and to go so an Endocrinologist. They gave me some levothyroxine and sent me on my way.

The levothyroxine helped a lot and once I got to an endocrinologist. He did an ultrasound and a ton of blood work to tell me I have hasimotoo's diese along with nodules on the thyroid. I had no idea how much hell such a small body part can put you through. I'm no where near were I use to be but I trust myself to drive now. I'm just taking it one day at a time.

Just some side stuff.
I lost 10lbs without trying to before seeing the endocrinologist. I am still losing weight without trying. I no longer have the thrush. My energy is still not consistent. My heart rate still drops at times just not as frequently. I also feel like I have a mental fog most days with the occasional panic/anxiety attack ( something I never had until I started getting sick in February).
And yes it is the diagnosis of hasimotoo's with an antibody count of 200.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear you had so strong symptoms. :(
But I'm glad for you that they found out quickly what is the problem. I struggled for 6 years until they discovered my thyroid problem. They used to say it's just a low blood pressure and poor circulation.

Aw. Will it go away? Or is it one of those diseases you can have for a long time?

It's life long but manageable to live with.
