Love so True

When I was young, I thought I found love. Made the commitment and stayed the course for decades while I discovered that love wasn’t what I thought it was.

Only after I met you did I realize what true love is. I’ve tasted true love, at least it seemed to be so to me. It consumes my heart each day like a hot eternal flame. It wakes me from my slumber and refuses to let me rest. It demands to be expressed and give you all the happiness that I can give. Love teaches patience, even to one who never had it, and I feel as if I’ll wait for you till time itself ends.

What I would give to know what thoughts you have for the silence is agony. I gave my love to you for I thought I had found true love. Yet the knowledge that I gave you my heart fully is enough for now. I wonder how many settle for less than true love, how many find it for a moment, and if any find it and never let it go?
