Yes, I did....her family (mostly her father) was putting pressure on her to be with someone of her "own kind”, and eventually she just gave up and said she couldn’t continue. I concluded that it wasn’t worth it if she wasn’t willing to fight for it.
We both eventually married others (she married someone of her own race/original nationality), but we are friends to this day.
