I Need Support

I've been getting harassed at my workplace for months. I'm not a special little snowflake who needs the HR and management to keep the office bullies off of my back, but it's really gotten to me after having gone to three tiers of authority and it not being handled or stopped. The harassment simply became less direct, and more verbal (whereas the physically evident could be proven).

I suffer from SAD, anxiety disorder, and panic disorder. The harassment has multiple times sent me in to anxiety attacks and panic attacks. I've become physically sick and had to call in multiple times because of this. Including, times where the stress has triggered one of my migraines. I called in Thursday and returned to my Saturday shift to see my next week is entirely blank. The management (who is friends with the employee), said they had assumed I quit.

She worked that day, too. And in the morning, when I mistook a "hello" from another employee as to me and responded, when it was to her, the snickered and the harasser said "get rid of her already".

Now I have no idea what is going on and feel so deflated and beaten. I've been meaning to go in and speak to management and HR but am so anxious that I feel sick.

It's affected my income, my health, my illnesses, my relationship, my Mom who I always get support from. My entire life. 😭🙄

I feel like nobody is going to believe me when I tell them all of this at work. Wtfffff

Write down and document every single thing said to you. When you go to HR with a big list of examples, it will daunt them and add great weight to your complaint: plus, if it isn't addressed and you need to go to a lawyer, he'll appreciate the detailed evidence.

I've been doing so, and have gone to HR. I'm nervous as now it's not provable harassment, just passive-aggressive remarks and statements, and gossip. I may be over sensitive to it now, but it's been months and nobody has dealt with her 😔

Time to go to HR again, and then - if they dont promise action - to ask to see their manager, or follow it up the command tree.

Have conditions in the office improved? And have You gotten better - your health, your illnesses, your relationship, etc? I hope so.
@L0STF0X: You're welcome.

@sophrai: I did nearly immediately, thankfully! Less hours, but I can actually breathe! 😊
@L0STF0X: That sounds great. Glad you can be free where you are.

Sorry to hear :(
They should get taken care of

If they won't leave you alone, you should ignore them. Hope you get well soon. They're most likely jealous of you

This is so hard.
I would confront the person harassing you. Often when harassers are confronted they are embarrassed and back off.

You shouldn't have to feel so bad at your job.

Find another job. SOunds like HR is not doing their job. Or they are trying to sweep this under the rug

That was exactly it! I ended up being forced to quit.

@L0STF0X: I hope they gave you a good package when you left. Or a good letter of recommendation.

Unfortunately, I value not being in prison 😂

If it's verbal, consider taping it. A tiny hidden camera might be helpful, too.
