I Sometimes Hate Technology

With the amount of technology today, I sometimes wonder how we even survive. When I look at the lunch room at my place of employment, everyone has their nose in their phones. What happened to conversations with your co-workers? What happened to reading a book? Today, I do NOT have an Instagram account. I do NOT Skype. I do NOT have a smart phone. I do NOT text.

i totally understand where you're coming from. sure we can communicate using technology, we can read each other's words in a text, or see & hear each other on a screen... but there is a particular connection that is also lost in communicating this way. a memory of a text or a Skype conversation are simply incomparable to the memories made when we hold somebody in our arms, or when we are standing side by side with the ones we love. nothing beats the reality of having somebody next to you, close enough to touch... even if only in conversation. when technology is removed from communication, our reality becomes high definition... as it always has been. technology may be temporarily useful say, if you meet somebody online before meeting in person, or if you will be apart from somebody you love for a given amount of time before being reunited with them again... but technology will never replace the true experience of physically being next to somebody.
