I Love Terry Pratchett Books

It is so hard to pick a favorite. One of them, though, is Small Gods. It's thoughtful and funny. It's one I return to again and again.

The first Discworld novel I read was The Light Fantastic. That was the beginning of the end. And you're right. They're all so hard to pick a favorite from because they're all so darn awesome. Knowing that Pratchett has written his last book due to his Alzheimer's makes the world just a lot sadder. We'll always have a piece of him through his works though.

He's retired? The excerpts from his recent interview with Locus seemed to indicate he was still writing despite his illness.

He cant actually write anymore. He dictates to his assistant, who writes it for him.

Right, but he's still composing. He's just not engaging in the physical process.

Nope, he's still trucking. He had said that Snuff would be his last, but he's written five novels since then with help. They retain the Pratchett spark, but a lot of the lightheartedness has gone out. I forgot what I was talking about. I didn't meant to say he'd written his very last book ever. I meant that through the dictation and being edited by someone else, there are no more JUST Terry Pratchett books. They're more like 'Pratchett and assistant' books. Still good, situation still sad.
