I Had the Chicken Pox

@TammieBear It is wonderful that you were fortunate enough to get away from the "Bieber Fever" hopefully before too long, as the other girl could not charge her phone to keep that music going (Or [i]is[i][/i][/i] it music?!😕)! Scrabble is awesome, though it has been a long time since I have last played it! I hope that you and the other girls had tons of fun with this game. :) This past Thursday night, I caught a mini-cold, and it took me just about the whole weekend for me to feel just-about as healthy as I do now (it is still Monday night for me), by allotting myself enough bed rest 🛏 (lots on both Friday, and especially, Saturday!) and herbal tea with honey 🍵. I unfortunately missed a party on Saturday evening that I originally requested off my work for so that I could attend, for a friend from my Bible study being accepted into a medical school that she had been in pursuit in applying for. She has faced even greater hardships that myself lately, even recently with her own health, unfortunately. I still didn't want to show up to her party sick, especially if she was the guest of honor! I also didn't know for how long I would be feeling sick; I have usually been sick with a cold for about a week, though this time, my sickness duration was about half that time, oddly but fortunately, and so that is why I say "mini-cold"! Still, what I had gone through over the weekend was probably nothing compared to what you have had to be facing recently, and I am still praying for you, and sending you positive and happy thoughts! :)

I thought that I would send you a video from a video series of cartoons which are modern adaptions of the classic fairytales of Hans Christian Andersen (He and the Brothers Grimm are great! :) ,) made by a collaboration of film/ animation companies from the Nordic countries (such as Denmark), the U.K., and Ireland. :) The series is called "The Fairytaler", and the first episode that I will attach here for you to watch is "The Tinderbox". Watching this animated story when I was sick on Saturday really brightened my spirits, and made me smile, as it brought back high school memories of when my sister and I would enjoy watching them together, and laugh! I hope that this story does the same for you if you would like to watch it (there's a soldier and a princess in it, but I won't spoil the rest!). :) Please enjoy for me, and feel free to show this to the other girls!

I also started watching the story from the same series called "Jack the Fool" from the weekend, and I still have yet to finish it; I'll post this one here for you as well, and I'll let you know what I think of this story if and when I finish!

@eftelingrose Thank you so much! We will enjoy these, probably tomorrow 😌 I am much better, but I will not be able to go back to my normal room until Thursday. I am so looking forward to being able to wash my hair! I am sorry you missed your party, but it was thoughtful of you not to want to spread your cold to the other guests 🙂

Please have fun with the videos. :) I am so happy to hear that you are better now; I hope that the days go by quickly between now and Thursday so that you can go back to your own room. Until then, at least you can look forward to coming back and think about how wonderful you will feel to be surrounded by what is familiar and secure to you. I wash my hair about three times a week, and I am always thankful for a good washing myself, too! Thank you for your sympathy concerning me missing the party; I feel the most sorry, but I will hopefully have a nice card prepared for that friend who was the guest of honor the next time I see her. I hope that she understands why I did not come that day. At least, like you said, I didn't spread my cold to the other guests, and I try to be thoughtful! I am also really sorry that I have not yet gotten back to you in full with our own messages, and I hope to give you another special letter later this week. For now, though, I will say that I first read your letter in full this past Thursday, and in short, I understand, and I am so glad, and appreciate that you were so up-front and honest with me, and I do not question your reasons one bit. I still see you as a loyal and kind friend and sister. 💖 Until I next write, I send more love and positivity right to you! :)

@updown2020 😄 I have done some research on the internet. It is quite rare for adults to get chicken pox and you can't catch shingles from it, which is a common misconception 🤓 This is the second time I have had it 😟

@Serenitree Most of the girls will have had the triple vaccination at school, and I did at my old school. The nurses have taken samples from us in case this is the start of a new strain.
