I Fainted

Yesterday I had to go for my routine blood draw, I knew I had this coming from the moment I woke up in the morning. I entered the doctors office, knowing what was going on. Then he put the needle in my arm, which I was fine with, needles and blood do not bother me in even the slightest way. When he had finished he said I could go and that is when it started, I suddenly felt exhausted, like the aftermath of a hangover and then nothing (I passed out at that point). When I awoke the doctor was standing over me holding up my legs and another person was holding a tissue to my forehead. The doctor got me a bottle of Lucozade and made me drink half of it before I even attempted to sit up. Then when I was well enough he allowed me to go home.

Later on that day I passed out for a second time because the room was extremely hot and I was still weak from earlier.

It's the shock response and happens to a ton of people. I used to work in a lab where we did blood draws and maybe even 15% of people had it. Big, small, young, old, fit, fat, it didn't matter. It was random.

Im sorry youve passed out. That is not so good. You must tell the doc that youve passed out again so that the doc will check thoroughly. You should be admitted.

I hope you get better soon. *hugs u*

As you said, youre at risk. Passing out twice in a day, is not good.

Why you need a routine blood draw
randompi · 22-25, F
Because I have an extremely low immune system, so I'm at risk
