I Fainted
This happened when I was on Holiday in Germany once, I was staying with some relatives in Berlin and I’d just gotten on a bus. The temperature was so hot, and it was so humid, it was well into the 80s. I don’t think they had AC in the bus or if they did it certainly wasn’t switched on. I remember paying for my ticket and sitting down at the back. Then I started to feel weird, my vision started to go dark and I felt as though I watching myself in a movie rather than being there. This horrible feeling of dizziness and nausea took over and I started to lean on seats in front. I put my head down in a hope that it would make the symptoms subside. Then I was looking at two large grey objects.
It turns out I was looking at were then knees of the man who was tending to me. He was on his way to work and he was wearing grey trousers. I’d fallen off the seat and had been rolled sideways. He was saying 'Können sie mich hören?' (‘Can you hear me?’) and he had his hand on my neck, there were more people crowded around the back of the bus, offering bottles of water, someone gave me a pack of mints, and the man reassured me that I was going to be okay and started asking me questions, like if I was ill, what I’d eaten and what I’d drank, if I was pregnant...the normal. Eventually I got off at my stop and enjoyed the rest of the holiday.
Lesson from this, make sure you hydrate, especially in hot weather.
I didn’t realise this until afterwards, but the bus had stopped after I’d passed out and it didn’t start again until I was sitting up.
