I’m at odds w this concept of Culture but it is useful here..

Having a discussion w Another user in here when she posted. This aspect of raising a child who is of two cultures due to the parents coming for two separate places of life, circumstances, and language..

I’d have to learn that culture of my partner. Because the child is of their mothers first and foremost and mine immediately after. I’d have to learn the language, the customs, and the food. I’d have to learn the translations from my language to that. English could facilitate that translation.

The baby is their mother first and father second.

I have to learn the culture of the mother before the baby does.

I would think that both people in the couple would want to learn each others culture. And that they can pick and choose what they introduce to their child.

@SW-User Mmm I agree w the first part. But the second, I think, unfortunately, it’s the burden of the child in the future to learn how to balance them. However, it’s on the parents to instill language, practices, food, life ways and community. And then the child has to decide how to introduce them into their lives.
