I Care About Homeless People

I found out my coworker was homeless. She'd been staying with a friend but that friend can no longer support her and now she has to go to a shelter. Me and my roommate's apartment can't fit another person in and even if we let her stay, she wouldn't have space or privacy for herself and I think that'd make her very stressed and uncomfortable.

Or am I wrong and I'm just overthinking things? Any ideas on how I can help?

Having been homeless, I have to say that I would have in a heartbeat taken the opportunity to sleep inside regardless of whether or not I would sleep on a couch or spare bed. Buck up, buy a sleeping bag and pillow and extend the invitation to avoid the shelter. It's not a nice place to be. Truth be told, you are doing her a disservice waffling about whether or not she'd have privacy.

Also, caring about a homeless PERSON is different than caring about homeless PEOPLE. If you care about one person but not the poor bastards sleeping outside the shops along the street or beside the library (me), then you don't care about homeless people.
