John Knox's Hoose, Embra

This is where John Knox used to live, in Edinburgh, apparently. He would no doubt watch out the window at all the sinners reeling from the pubs and plan his next sermon. For those who dinnae ken, Knox was one of the men who pushed the reformed Protestant faith into auld Scotia in the 16th century so he's lang deid noo.

Thank you for sharing.

@rottenrobi I think it's 15th century, but probably altered since then, with all the wars and excitements in Edinburgh. It's in the High Street, not far from the palace and parliament - and near some pretty decent pubs too.

@helensusanswift I would love to see what it looks like inside! I was lucky enough to visit Scotland once for a week, when I was 12. I had so much fun, but would love to visit again. I think the Loch Ness monster was too high on my list on my first visit. Lol.
I think I've graduated to architecture and history now.

@rottenrobi It's open to the public (or it will be when the Pandemic eases)
