I Want to Go to Outer Space

The budgets for some movies and video games are pretty staggering. If we redirected all that money to the space effort I'm sure we could already have colonized Mars.

Misdirection of efforts if you ask me. People would rather watch movies than conquer space. Probably why aliens won't bother with us. They've seen our reality shows. They know what's up.

Yeah, but it'd be boooooring. It takes weeks to go to Mars. If we didn't have movies and video games it'd make for a pretty crappy trip.

Yes that's true. I'm just posting the idea if more money and public attention were directed here how much more we could have already accomplished.
What I think is people would rather have more super hero movies.
