I Don't Date

I wonder if I'll ever feel "ready" to date? Notwithstanding that my whole concept of going on a date has changed from my last one, about 28-years ago. Then I'd dress up, wear high heels, a nice dress, and go to dinner for a first date. Now, that's the last thing I'd want to do. I'd prefer to meet on our bicycles, and cycle around the trails and stop for a coffee. If he doesn't have a bike we could meet for coffee in daylight hours, and maybe take a walk, if we liked each other.

I'm still the same person in many ways, but my tastes and concepts about life have changed; which is what usually happens as one grows older. I don't follow modern day societal norms; I follow my own.

My tastes are less sophisticated these days. I prefer the simple life – comfortable, but without all the bells and whistles.

It is amazing how our attitudes change about things as we age and gain experience. In our youth our judgement is clouded by hormones as we gain experience what we think is important shifts somewhat and may change completely.

Nothing wrong with that...like myself, been there done all that...we "know" what we want in life and a partner now!

Well, there are a lot of guys out there that enjoy the simple life. Good luck.

I agree with you Carissimi or go on a boating trip or camping or hiking. :) Or how about a camp fire with someone playing the guitar. :)

It's true, our tastes change -- how about spinach then and now ;-) But it's so very true about concepts and philosophy as well.
