I Am Wheelchair Bound

I hate the phrase "wheelchair bound". I am not bound to my wheelchair. I get in and out of it all the time, most of the time on purpose. 😜

I much prefer the phrase "wheelchair user".

Same here! Well said! We are NOT "dis-abled" either

@Fernie You, my dear, are one of the most abled broads I know. 😉

😊@LyricalOne Thank you for that LO! I would agree wholeheartedly
I agree lol you reminded me of this phrase here that some use and it was even used in a TV series and it really doesn't make any sense, this woman in the series litteraly said "my son walks on a wheelchair" 😂 what does that even mean?
That's a derogatory word...I agree.

How about wheelchair driver? Wheelchair control technician?

@otto78 I fully agree, anything is better than bound.

@gmatthewb I see that your wife (and you) is afflicted with ALS. I feel for you, man. That is a nasty, cruel disease. MS is too, but ALS is so much more so. You have my prayers and empathy.

Are you at all familiar with Jason Becker? He was a brilliant guitar phenom in his teens when ALS struck him. He has continued with his music over the years. I love listening to it. I don't know if it can bring you any comfort or solace or perspective, but his story is on YouTube. It's called "Not Dead Yet."

Peace, my friend.

@otto78 Thank you, we are doing the best we can. I feel every disease is terrible and I hope that one day we can find a cure for them all. I will look into Jason Becker, thank you for the suggestion.
