My guess is the purple dyes refers to fine clothes; that is, luxuries. But that is not important, yet love is, even love in poverty.

I'd agree with the other two answers. Purple means royalty, and Enkidu was a king but he was a king of the wilderness while his friend Gilgamesh was the king of civilization. I'd say Enkidu is saying that with his wife in the wilderness he has all he needs and therefore he is rich.

Purple was for royalty only so being stripped of it is to give up wordly riches would be my guess.
Being in the wilderness (old speak for nature) with family is being rich because we have all that we need.
No idea of this story but thats how I would interpret that.
