I Have Heartburn

I first started suffering from heartburn over 10 years ago. I noticed it when I would go to bed. I would drink water, lay down, and then feel intense burning in my gut. Over time, I would get it during the day. The pain would get so bad it felt like I was getting crushed. I couldn't breathe. I am on medication now, but that hasn't stopped flare ups from happening. I believe there is something more to this than just heartburn.

I don’t know how your account appear in my profile. I am reading some of your postings and my pre-perception is that you are a thoughtful and straight forward person.
As for your heartburn, I would like to say this, from my own experience, I guess you might have a problem with your stomach which produce extra acid and cause acid reflux. This would get worse when you lay down. The acid would cause damage and in turn stimulate the epigastrium area and epigastric contractions make you feel a pain in your chest and that iswhen you may find a trouble in breath. Staying up late or having something to worry too much about could cause a problem with my stomach (due to extra acid produced) then cause heartburn, pain and a trouble in breathing. You are right that hearburn are one of symptoms of something else and it need to check carefully.

Sounds like acid reflux. Ask your doctor about Nexium. I suffered for nearly twenty five years. Ate Zantac like candy, without any real results. Since I started taking Nexium, I haven't had that problem.
