I Read 1984

I've read some of it during high school and decided to read it again, but stopped reading it because of boredom. Maybe one day I'll get to it.

It was a bit better when 1984 was in the distant future and Communism was real. Mind you a lot of the newspeak stuff has come true.

I started to read it. I felt like I had already read it. I've heard so much about it over the years. I put it down, and have no intention of picking it up again. If I could read it fresh, without knowing anything about it, that would be best.

It gets more exciting from the time Winston Smith gets the note passed to him by Julia. But it is not exactly an upbeat view of life or an optimistic view of current world history. Definitely worth a read.

hi lilchickennugget23
I remember growing up with 1984 looming ahead and being terrified by that book.
Best wishes

Read it again, it's a lot like the Trump Era.
