I Read 1984

I haven't started reading the book yet but I think I should.

I just heard the word doublethink from George Orwell's novel and probably read it soon.

Bowie made a Musical for the book.
It was sad because the widow of George Orwell opposed him from using "1984".
The album with the scheduled songs was "Diamond Dogs".

@SimplyTracie: If you like comedy, "Brazil" was released in 1985 and stars Robert DeNiro, Bob Hoskins, and
Michael Plain from Monty Python.
It can take the bumps out of the "read".

Yup. Really really good book. Animal Farm is also good but I think 1984 might be easier to understand since it's more applicable now.

I decided to put this book down because I wasn't getting anywhere with it. I hope to continue on to Part 2 soon. I hope it is more exciting than Part 1.

I did read Are you there God? It's me, Margaret today. I think it's such a wonderful book.

It's not any easy read nor a fun read and it gets pretty preachy in the middle, but it is worth reading.

it's an allegorical study of what happened in the Soviet Union after the Russian revolution - meaning they don't stay equal 😠

Yes, I had to read it high school. It was a good book forewarning of government surveillance aka "big brother" watching our every move.
