When you go OFF daylight savings time, it is darker earlier, so maybe you want to stay on daylight savings time permanently?
Be glad we don't set our clocks like China does. The entire country is in one time zone, set to Beijing time, and it is as big as the US, so the sun will come up early in Beijing and very late in Lanzhou. Can you imagine being in Seattle and not having the sun come up until 10 AM in winter?

@sunnydreams Right before Christmas, it is pitch black before 430 PM here. I try to look at the bright side--that once we reach the winter solstice, each day gets a little longer until the summer solstice in June.
