Seriously.... it’s not that hard people
Starchild1983 · 41-45, F
Unfortunately I am not surprised by how hard it can be for some people @11knaves11

@11knaves11 In a self centered world your right ,it is getting harder and harder to find people willing to go the extra mile ,,
So I plant seed ,,hope some will grow
when one sets a better example ,,it makes it easier for others to follow
My family is proof ,,
Just a few can make a difference

This is so true and more should live by this standard.

It would work if everyone would abide by it but it's usually used with a flawed logic corollary "if it works that way It must mean that if I'm dealing with personal hardship i can be a dick to everyone and they should be nice to me!"

It's a positive outlook and I respect that, I just don't see it catching on. That doesn't mean I don't adhere to it (within reasonable limits) it just means I observed that's how it usually works (as commented previously)

@kayoshin Well my experience is (as a rule ) when you show others respect ,its returned
My family has not been taught someone is only worthy of your respect when they earn it (especially their elders )
We believe you show respect to everyone ,unless they give you reason to do otherwise ,(and even then give the benefit of the doubt ,they may have just been having a bad day Health wise ,elders upset easier )
I see more and more teens ,,when shown a better example ,they follow it ,,but many have not been taught any better
It was cute watching kids wise off to adults ,,and instead of correcting them ,they laughed ,,now as teens ,its no longer funny ,but still common place
Well I have proved over and over ,,don't call them kid LOL
don't speak down to them and we can go from there and establish a mutual respect ,,and it is catching on
Maybe not on a scale I would like to see
But when you raise 10 kids to do the right thing
you would be amazed how many lives they touch ,,and help change ,,,have a good one ...I do respect your opinion

I was raised in the same way, it's a way that seems to be fading. But I was not talking about kids or teens rather adults in general. I am not a grandpa yelling at kids from my lawn ( it's hard when you live way up in an apartment building :)
And I also respect your views like I said before, if it came across otherwise there might be a misinterpretation or communication error somewhere.
