I Had a Skunk Encounter

10 years and 2 months ago I was about a step or 2 away from getting sprayed by a skunk. I was doing a newspaper route at the time and I was running up to the doorstep in an apartment building to throw the newspaper there. I had no idea the skunk was there because I was trying to get all the newspapers delivered on time, but as I threw the newspaper I saw the skunk just a few feet away with its tail up and aiming for my face. And instinctively I was already backing away. But I swear if I had taken 1 more step closer or had stayed standing where I was, I'm certain that I would have gotten a full blast to the face at point blank range. I can't believe I completely forgot about it up until just this last week. And now that I think about I seriously wonder how things would have been if I had gotten sprayed by the skunk.
