I Had a Skunk Encounter

Penelope, Sweet Penelope.
I got to the lake a little late since I worked until about 9:40 and had to head home. Still, 11 p.m. or so isn't too bad a time to arrive for skunk-chasing, all things considered. I saw a lot of feral cats gathered near the park patrol station, since some guy in an SUV was dumping out cat food and tuna to feed them (something I'd rather they not do, but oh well).
I thought because of this obvious human presence nearby that my chances of finding a skunk would be nearly nil, but lo and behold as I rounded the creek I saw a lovely black shape and upon closer inspection with my flashlight I saw bold white stripes as the little stinker approached me inadvertently. Immediately I gave chase and the skunk hit the nearest pond in a panic, so I hurled my sprayed skunk plush named Penelope directly at it and she was directly sprayed as a result. The skunk quickly ducked into the nearest drainage pipe (only a few steps away) then waited for me to let my guard down at the other end of the pipe before bolting into the trees where I couldn't follow (again, that's some thick foliage and there's a random drop to the creek I think, would hate to risk breaking an ankle or femur, you know?).
I thought about looking for another skunk to get myself sprayed but decided since I have to both work and go donate plasma tomorrow I'd best not risk being hit myself. I carefully got back into my new car, taking every precaution to assure that no skunk musk touched any of the interior if at all possible, and drove home with the window down, inhaling deeply of that wonderful skunky aroma all the way. I wrapped the plush, flashlight, and gloves in two la<x>yers of towels for safe transport and they're all in my room now, making awesome air fresheners ;3 When I got inside and hit the bathroom I noticed that I was, in fact, misted on my left arm so once again I'm not getting out of a chase spray-free. When I examined Penelope again I noticed the huge amber splotch of spray on her tail spreads out a bit and happily rubbed her musk around on my face, neck and arms to properly perfume myself ;3
Really wish I could share this with a fellow skunk lover again, I smell too awesome to keep it to myself! I kind of hope I can deodorize though, I can always put off the plasma donation for another day but work is another story. x.x
