I Had a Skunk Encounter
Another intense misting tonight.
I headed up to the lake late, since I was debating in my mind whether to go for it or not, being that I have a job interview tomorrow at 3 p.m. and can't exactly afford to stink. I finally flipped the coin and won on two separate sessions so I let fate decide it. I suited up and headed straight to the lake, where I looked around for a while and within 10 minutes of searching managed to find a familiar bold white-striped skunk who, upon closer inspection, is probably the same female I got squirted by in the bathroom back in September, given her face was still all scarred up.
Anyway, I saw her run off and duck into cover, probably having sniffed me out or heard my approach, and I followed hesitantly, given where she was hiding happened to be directly across from the park patrol station. Once she ran out of cover and onto the sandy shoreline of the lake I gave chase at once and hurled my skunk plush Penelope at her twice, getting the plush nicely sprayed. I soon realized that during the intense chase I'd been misted on my skin as well, which I didn't exactly want given how difficult the spray is to deodorize from skin and my house's lack of proper plumbing REALLY isn't going to help that any. From what I can tell my left arm was definitely hit with some tiny droplets and I've had a lot of effort poured into deodorizing my bedroom once again after skunking up the place.
The hassle hasn't stopped me from enjoying myself of course! The stink is delightfully potent and has all the right vanilla and banana notes to stay sweet, just another reason I think it was a female skunk that got me.
