I Had a Skunk Encounter

Shared A Heavy Skunking... Hello fellow skunk scent lovers, got another fun story for you! :)

Last night fellow EP user "ahatguy" and myself suited up in pre-sprayed or non-fitting, old clothing and went out to the same park I was sprayed at in previous encounters. We didn't have to wait long before a nice plump beautiful skunk with thick bold stripes (my favorite coloration, all the way from tailtip to head, luxurious white V-stripes) ran out and while "ahatguy" slipped on the goggles I gave him I grabbed the little stinker's tail. This particular skunk, however, was a deadeye shot and nailed my whole face INCLUDING my eyes. Let me tell you, being sprayed in the eyes is REALLY painful but it didn't stay in long enough to blind me, luckily for me it was a shotgun-style blast so only around 6-7 small droplets hit them rather than a stream. Anyway I kept a strong grip on the skunk's tailba<x>se, lifted him up off his feet briefly and handed him to "ahatguy" who was then doused in the face as well, the goggles protecting him (thankfully, because the goggles are COVERED in droplets).

That wonderfully pungent scent, so sickly-sweet, sulfurous, and deliciously musky exploded in the air and I was so concerned with washing my eyes out I forgot to thank our four-legged benefactor, who was really just happy we'd let him go and darted off to the lake. While we did see other skunks afterwards, circumstances like passing motorists with loud engines or the random skunk being too close to an escape route (drainage pipes, mostly) thwarted us, scaring the little stinkers off. We thoroughly enjoyed our shared aroma however, and even deodorizing had it's share of fun moments, with the scent being so stubborn and all. Even now I'm still a bit skunky and so is he, quite nice :) It should wear off within a few days due to how heavily we used both the Hydrogen Peroxide/Baking soda mix and Nature's Miracle™ Skunk Odor Remover, but at least we get some nice whiffs before that time (even if it's not the most polite thing to be mildly skunky in public, alas).

Smelling that beautiful aroma under my sheets in bed is always beautiful too, it's such a relaxing and exciting scent all at the same time. We went out of our way to make sure the scent from the garage didn't contaminate the house very much, so it's not filling EVERY room like some previous encounters. Mainly the kitchen (closest to the garage) and of course the garage itself, which got so intense that when we aired it out for 30 minutes, it skunked up the entire block of the neighborhood for hours! We can only be grateful this was the middle of the night, you know? ^!^

I'll be remembering that night for a long time!
Skunksmeller
Is spring urging you on to a new skunking?
ahatguy
Urging? Yes. But it's not something I do on a whim.
Skunksmeller
Not a whim. It requires planning. Yes?
Jaxskunk
I need to do this some time, when I go on a camping trip with my friend who equaly loves the smell of skunk. And will do anything just to smell it. Same here!!!!
ahatguy
You can get away with it pretty scent-free if you prepare and have a couple days afterwards to followup wash.
Skunksmeller
Do you know a good skunkinfested place to camp?!
Skunksmeller
I'd like to try it too. Anyone game to "hunt" with me?
Bagoobo
I need to do this sometime!
