Though if you really want to protect her, I'd recommend a pepperball launcher or can of pepper spray. While guns are effective when used, the implications of pulling the trigger are too severe for them to be easily used on the fly.

Like your pepper ball launcher? And pepper spray? Which you best not be down wind with it. And isn’t always going to take someone down. At least with a firearm you have the range and even simply brandishing a firearm is enough to make someone back off.
Pepper spray and taser can easily be brushed of wound wise and make a person go about their day.

I think there is a bigger problem with the culture of an area if they teach their daughters to shoot things because they're expecting her to meet men that bad
