I watched the news, and saw a protest turn into a disaster... The only way violence will end is when we're all dead. Still, I believe that won't be the end of it...
I totally feel this. I was at work yesterday and a father was having a conversation about it with his like 4 year old son and like it shouldn't have to be necessary to explain why people are hurting and killing people over the color of someone's skin to toddlers.
@myobokujiraiya10 exactly I mean it's not a bad thing to be informed and obviously there are conversations that need to happen (the fact that not everyone is going to be nice, don't talk to strangers, be respectful to people who are different etc.) but it's the fact that it was even necessary for him to say "there are people out there who are doing really bad things because they don't like the color of their skin" that upsets me. I'm totally glad he used it as a positive lesson for the kid but man is it upsetting to hear kids asking "daddy why are people on the TV fighting"
Yeah, I wasn't taught that until much later. Back then I thought people only fought monsters like Power Rangers do. Such a chill, innocent time... I miss those days.
