I Wear Short Trousers

I wear shorts whenever it's warm enough. This year that was between around April and Early October
As boy growing up I wore shorts until age 14. They were compulsory at school until age 12 but my mum kept me in them until 14. Some boys were kept in shorts until 16.
Parents often punished boys by putting them back in shorts when they were naughty.

My parents where old fashion so they kept me in shorts to school, church, home until I was 18.

@Schoolboy I regard their behaviour as abusive, Church too, if they compelled that with no account of your own religious ideas.

Did you ever manage to get out of them, perhaps when an independent adult, their motives? Or an apology? Or are they too blinkered to know and so perhaps best just abandoned to their own misery?

@Schoolboy You were not the only one schoolboy in shorts at 18 years old, I was well raised and loved by my parents and was wearing well cut, snug and clean up to 18 yers old When I was acting out. I got also the martinet on the front and the rear my bare thighs. For more important offences, I was likely to be spanked on my bare bottom. I disagree with ArishMel. ,My parents were not binkered or miserable They were just fulfilling their parental obligations They were to be obeyed. If not....

@yvan6615 They sound needlessly cruel - espcially using a whip. However, I do appreciate that parental cruelty for no other reason than ignorance, cruelty and power, was common in the past. As was their hypocritical claim to be "loving". It was all they knew: they had probably been raised brutally and thought the only way to treat children was to be brutal.

@ArishMell There is a lot of truth in your reply but the use of words like cruel and brutal are too strong and in my sense exaggerated., I surely would not advocate this kind of strict education today but I recognize the benefits of being kept in short trousers until I was 18, I learned the sense of reality, obedience, humility, respect of the adults, cleanliness of my clothes and a good personal hygiene. The martinet was threre to prevent me from doing bloody stupidities and I got it when I deserved it, My parents were never slouch on using it on my bump or on the rear of my bare thighs, I was legally dependent of my parents up to my college graduation and I never felt resentful about this rigorous education. I got a M.A, and a Ph.D, in Classical Studies and four B,A. with Honours in Humanities, Pedagogy Lingiustics and French Literature. I can tell you that I would never have reached such a level of excellence without the loving and strict education of my parents. I am looking forward to your reaction. Thanks a lot
