Jesus Creepers!

Surgeons remove 27 contact lenses from woman's eye
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-40630852

How the hell does that happen??

I wore contact lenses for about 5 years some 20 years ago and remember falling a sleep on the odd occasion with them in. But, I was always sure that what went in always came out. Might go and get my eyes checked, just in case.

Scared the hell out me too considering the amount of problems I've been having with my eye.

I remember one occasion when I rubbed my eye and "lost" a lens, so put another one in (I wear dailies) and a few hours later I suddenly lost vision in that eye. Turned out the first lens had folded up somewhere in my eye and had chosen that moment to unfold and slide over the second one. It was funny when I realised what had happened but I was terrified at the time!!

Remember having a panic attack whilst drunk because I thought that one had gone right around the back of my eye and I'd have to go and have my eye out to get to it. I never did find it! @WelshLovely

PS quote from article "A report in the BMJ said she had worn disposable lenses for 35 years, and had not complained of any irritation.
But after they were removed, she said her eyes felt a lot more comfortable.".

Is this person for real?? WTF

@Ironicman lol nice!! My worst drunken mistake was losing a lens and finding it attached to my jumper. I licked it to make sure there was no fluff on it and slapped it straight back in. Didn't take me long to realise that I'd been drinking straight vodka....
