I dream in mundane everyday boringness. My dreams surprisingly resemble normal life.

I need better dreams.

@Greyscale I wish I had that. I don't dream much actually. I went for a sleep study and found that I don't reach the deep sleep and REM stages often.
@Gillian woahh? Really? You can measure your sleep cycle?? 😮

@Greyscale yes, it's called Polysomnography (sleep study). They monitor you overnight. Testing for sleep disorders. You have to be hooked up to a lot of wires and they monitor things like breathing, eye movement, heartrate etc. And they can tell which stages of sleep you are in and for how long.

@Greyscale I've got a picture and it looks like they're creating a cyborg with all the stuff I had stuck onto me. Couldn't even go to the bathroom without help with wheeling all that stuff around.

@Greyscale yeah it was. And they said to try to sleep normally. Not so easy when you have all that stuff on you.

@Greyscale yeah. I've had terrible sleep for years. Ever since I was in my teens I guess. They didn't diagnose any problems, just that I don't reach the deep sleep and dream stages much. But my other stages are better than average. Honestly I get terrible sleep and very little but I still function well somehow.
@Gillian ohh damn. Sorry to hear that. But do you get meds for that?

@Greyscale I'm kind of a borderline case. I'm still in the okay part of the graph. And I'm not bad enough for any treatment or anything. And I function properly during the day, so...

They also didn't recommend taking meds if it wasn't making my health suffer.
@Gillian oh i think thats still good news. You don't have to depend on any meds just to feel better. Im assuming you're in better shape now regarding this?

@Greyscale I think stress and my mental state really affects my health and sleep. And I'm stressed a lot of the time. I think my body has adjusted to minimal sleep but I do wish I could sleep properly. Just don't have a life that allows for it
@Gillian aww hun 🤗. I know it may be cliche, but dont stress too much. I do often stress about stuff so it really messes with my sleep schedule. Sometimes i can go to sleep at 6am because for whatever tf is happening in my brain. 🤗 I say just take time to rest and breathe❤️

@Greyscale That's what I do most days. I don't have the luxury of sleeping in. So yeah, the rest and breather has to suffice at times. Shame, hope you're doing okay? Just talking about me all the time.
@Gillian hahah it's fine. Im doing fine. My sleep schedule is getting better although i cant seem to sleep early. It's always midnight. Hahaha

@Greyscale That's good. Do try take care of yourself. And I think it's an Asian thing. We don't sleep before midnight
