When I was a working professional, I had (and still have) far more well-tailored suits than I needed. One of the few luxuries I allowed myself was the occasional visit to my tailor in London. I paid close attention to coordinating my outfits and my overall appearance. While generally conservative, I usually allowed one bit of "style" in my outfit: a bow tie, a colored shirt with white collar or a colorful pocket square. So I always admired the executive woman dressed in a well made and fitted suit, projecting authority, confidence and sexy elegance. Like our author.

When I started in banking in the 1980s, women typically wore very lovely, conservatively tailored skirted suits, with the skirts to the knee or just below, and often with very heavily starched blouses, often buttoned up and often sporting kind of a poofy kind of bow tie at the collar. VERY sharp!

We have very similar tastes...To me nothing is more sexy and feminine as wearing a skirt suit, sheer fassion hosiery and heals. Accessories are imperative. And oh yes I can relate to the problem of warmer climates. My major problem with suits is having to tailor both jacket and skirt to fit.

I know what you mean about having to carry the suit coat. Where I live wearing a suit has practically gone out of style. I miss the old days when I dressed in my suits every day

Agree with you completely, a woman in a business suit, stockings & heels is at the same time both classy AND sexy. Wish there were more like you (and my wife.) The world has gone entirely TOO casual these days. We love getting dressed up to go out for dinner or to the theater, do it often.

it depends on the suit..i wear all kinds of hose as long as they are sheer. i live in a very hot climate so i just started wearing thigh highs..
