I Like Technology
So I am ditching my iPhone for the Samsung S8! Not too sure how I feel about this. I have not really loved any Droid devices I have used but man, this phone is just too damn sexy!

I ditched the I phone too, I was committed to going back to it after android for a number of good reasons, two big ones were the way they did their OS wide updates and they way they did not allow carriers to hang a bunch of bloatware on my phone I could not remove. But when I saw what was happening with the prices I said never again, expect to pay near a grand for next years iphone. Of course samsung is not far behind, I imagine I will end up with one of the lower cost androids when mine dies, as soon as everyone decides that paying over $500 is too much for a cell phone they will quit marketing over that price.

Full disclosure, my favorite phone has been my Lumia Windows 8 phone. Man, I loved most everything about that phone. Other than the apps being severely limited, it was such a great phone and camera.

I can't buy one of the high end phones of any kind when I look at one it reminds me of the late 1990s when a Dell desktop costs in today's dollars about $3,400. People quit buying them choosing to stick with what they had and the bottom fell out of the PC prices. Same thing will happen with phones when people wake up. The S8 you bought should sell for about for 350 to 400 dollars and that is without being subsidized but won't as long as people continue to pay.

A big part of my hesitation is I've always used Apple for everything. I'm pretty much dependent on it. To have someone talk to me about switching is actually a bit scary. lol

A fluid ecosystem is amazing, though. I don't know if I would switch in that situation. My thing is I know I like Apple. I don't love them, but I like them. I haven't had that same luck with Droid but maybe things have changed. Dipping my toes. I'll definitely tell you my thoughts since I am also pretty hesitant.

I might pick your brain a bit... Only thing that left me "meh" on the S8 was the lack of improving the rear camera in any sort of way. But the S7 already had a stellar camera.
