I Grew Up In Foster Care

There are 15 of us in this group and no one has posted, interesting. Well, then I suppose I will be the first, its good for my social anxiety! 🤪 I guess for me I was a career foster child from 4-17 in 15 different homes. Even with all the horrific, traumatic things that happened in all those years, I would not be the amazing, beautiful, unique person I am today without those experiences.

I didn't even know this group existed!Your story is mine in a nutshell! I was in from 4 to 18 ,just got out this spring .People think foster is always kind caring people wanting to help kids ,nothing an be further from the truth . My number was 13 as far as i can remember.

@Lofms I agree,i had at least two very good placements,but the system is not geared for a kid to stay with one foster long term ,when they say it's time you go . Some are in it for money others are in in for much darker reasons. Once you get a good family and still get moved you learn not to get close to any of them.
