I Lost a Child

Well I can’t believe it’s been one year today. I had hoped it would get a little easier but it still sucks. I have to admit, this has been the most fucked up year of my life and I hope all you parents out there never have to experience this. Thanks for all the support I’ve gotten from my friends here.

@LyricalOne y’all have been my escape. I’ve met some good people here. I know I have a way to go. I just never imagined how something like this would screw up my whole life.

@jaymic64 Please be kind to yourself. You’re experiencing one of the most devastating things possible. And grief is a process, different for everyone, with no set timetable. Have you been to any support groups?

@LyricalOne not really. Been to therapy. Still going. Not much at home either. But I’ll make due best I can.

@jaymic64 When my husband died, I used a site called GriefShare. Hooks you up with grief support groups in your area, for people who have experienced all kinds of losses, including the loss of a child. I found it tremendously helpful to be in a room and share with people who knew exactly what I was going through. Got me through some of my darkest times. I highly recommend it.
