I Was Thinking
I had to help a client today with some phone forum chatline. I'd never used one before. I didn't know what they were like. Awkward and stupid. That's what they're like.
That changed after a bit, though, when a bunch of people with fake names who seemed to know each other started arguing. They were so familiar with one another and the way they talked to each other, hateful as it was, was hilariously wonderful to me. I thought, these guys sound like EP.
My poor client was just quiet and listening. I tried not to laugh. Was he like other people who logged onto EP and didn't catch the flow of things the way many of the rest of us had? They missed out. Fcked up as this is, I think it's sad for them. Or maybe it's sad for me that that kind of crap is something of a good memory to me. I'm okay with that. Being fcked up in the head isn't the worst thing.
