I Lost a Friendship

Faded Friend
by: Rob Paquin

From the mist;
A friendship borne
It's just fantasy and smoke
For all the many
Promises
It's just another endless joke

And like a perfumed fairy tale
Or a hunger left untended
The whole of it I can decribe
As another friendship ended

Thoughts and feelings fade away
No more to be felt
So here I am with empty prayers
Before the altar
Where you once knelt

~ The Snowdog

Oh wow. I felt this one. I've been there, and I understand. It's well written. Thank you for sharing it.

My appologies. This is a darker sort of thing that most people have endured.

Thank you for reading it. Some rhymes write themselves, unfortunately.

@HikingMan Yes, I know all too well. There were moments of darkness for me in the past. Part of life, I suppose. Writing helped. I really liked the way you wrote this.

Thanks. I just type. Sometimes things people like come out of it.

Maybe this is one of those times.

@HikingMan Seems to be. It’s a gift to have your writing resonate with people.
